Class of 2000 Reunion

On Saturday, 18 December 2010 more than 30 Old Helenians from the Class of 2000 gathered in the Senior School library for their 10 year reunion. Alumni Officer, Lorelle Bannister, assisted by Old Helenian, Kathleen Kakoschke, contacted many of the Old Helenians via Facebook. Lorelle said that she was thrilled with the numbers of alumni returning to the College to catch up with their previous classmates.

Ms Abbott, Mrs Mackie, Mr Offer and Mrs Carlton joined the students to reminisce about their school days at Helena. The Leavers’ DVD from 2000 was playing, photos and news stories from the archives were displayed and the drinks and snacks broke the ice….and before long the conversations grew louder as everyone circulated, keen to catch up with one another. The 2000 ball photos showed the high fashion of the day and Mr Offer brought along his photo album from that time. It was wonderful to hear the stories about what these Old helenians had been doing with their lives since they left Helena. After a short tour of the College (mainly to see the new gym – which was just a dream back in 2000) the group left to make their way to the Rose and Crown Hotel in Guildford, for more catching up….
