Congratulations to… the Junior School inter-school swimming team!
Congratulations and well done to the Junior School inter-school swimming team (including some Senior School Year 7 swimmers) for their first place win!
On Thursday, 4 April, the inter-school swimming team went to Bilgoman to compete in the 2013 carnival. The students are to be congratulated for their outstanding behaviour and excellent sportsmanship. A big thank you to all the students who attended training with the specialised assistance of Mr Ford and Mrs Osborn. Thank you to all the parents who came down to support their children.
After a 13 year drought from the championship trophy, Helena has once again brought it home. It was super close in 2010, where we controversially came second by 1 point to St Anthony’s and the trophy has been just out of reach ever since! But this year the students’ efforts in the pool were gutsy and remarkable. Their teamwork, sportsmanship and encouragement of each other was nothing short of outstanding.
As you can see by the final results, our Helena students came through convincingly.
The results are as follows:
Place
School
Points
1st
Helena College Junior School
411
2nd
Glen Forrest Primary School
395
3rd
Mount Helena Primary School
345
4th
Darlington Primary School
325
5th
Saint Anthony’s Blue
319
6th
Gidgegannup Primary School
142
7th
Saint Anthony’s Gold
134
8th

118
We are so proud of each swimmer in the team for his/her sportsmanship, commitment and determination. Congratulations to the team.
