The College Council recognises that the key to meeting the College's objectives lies in the careful selection of teaching staff. Staff are chosen to ensure that they fully reflect the Council's aims and policies. Within that framework, they are encouraged to show initiative, be innovative and use individual talents while being part of an integral and co-operative team. Those appointed are chosen for their demonstrated ability, academic qualifications, vocational commitment and caring attitude. Teaching staff number more than fifty, with additional support staff and music tutors. Through self-education and attendance at in-service seminars and conferences, staff are expected to continually monitor changes in education and upgrade their skills. Employment opportunities Helena College benefits from a very stable staff membership with many staff being at the school for over five years. This can be attributed to many aspects of College life, including: - the enjoyable working environment
- effective student management policies
- support for innovative and progressive teaching practice
