Primary school curriculum
The K - 6 school curriculum is drawn from all eight learning areas of the Curriculum Framework prescribed by the Curriculum Council of Western Australia:

  • The Arts
  • English
  • Health and Physical Education
  • Languages other than English
  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • Studies of Society and the Environment
  • Technology and Enterprise

Staff are also mindful of incorporating values education throughout the themes and contexts used with their programs.

To complement the regular primary school experience:

  • teachers are encouraged to differentiate their classroom syllabus to best cater for individual differences within the class group
  • Indonesian language and culture is taught to all children as a component of the school's overall language program
  • a music specialist works with every class from Years 1 - 6
  • all children from Kindergarten to Year 6 visit the Library each week.  Children are encouraged to borrow from a wide selection of fiction and information resources.  Activities such as author visits and storytelling are included to enrich learning experiences

  • the children have the opportunity to participate in a range of Physical Education activities.  Specialists are invited to the school to present skills programs that enhance fitness and skills development.  Some of the areas covered during the year include Tennis, Basketball and Dance

  • all children from Kindergarten to Year 6 take part in a computer skills program in the school's computer laboratory
  • a fundamental movements skills program is taken in Pre Primary. The program develops movement skills, balance and object skills
  • camps and day excursions are conducted regularly
  • additional education assistants and support teachers are employed to help the class teacher

Early Learning Centre

Kindergarten
The school's first Kindergarten students were enrolled in 2000 and housed in the Early Learning Centre. The four year olds are able to enjoy a child centred developmental program which endeavors to challenge each child to their full potential.

While the Kindergarten children interact and learn from their surrounding environment, they also spend some time engaging with the Pre Primary children in some shared experiences, making the transition to Pre Primary smooth.

Pre Primary
A strong link between the home and Pre Primary and a friendly atmosphere within the centre provides an ideal setting for the child to grow, feel secure and become independent.

An active involvement in the local community teaches the child to care and share while innovative, non-competitive programs allow them to develop at their own pace.

With a good self-image, the child moves to Year 1 with confidence.

Extra-curricular program
A wide range of options is provided for those who desire them for their children. Options offered are: Drama, Art, Pottery, Choir, Guitar, Piano, Violin, Clarinet, Drums, Flute, Tae Kwon Do, Chess, Classical and Jazz Ballet, Computing and French.

Some options are held during school time while others take place before or after the normal timetable.
