The focus of the Friends of Helena College group is to build community links across both campuses, through organizing activities for the community
Friends of Helena College group regular hosts community events, including guest speaker evenings, dances, parent socials and family-friendly events. In addition, the Friends group undertakes fundraising activities, on a project-by-project basis. Past events have included:
- Bush Dance
- School Disco
- Sausage sizzles at athletics and swimming carnivals
- Lapathon
- World Teachers Day
- Star Gazing Night
- Sci-Tech Evening
- Cancer Council Biggest Morning Tea
- Christmas Activities
