Parents & Friends

The Parents’ & Friends’ Association is a great way to get to know more about the College and meet other parents, especially those with children in different year levels. It’s also a good opportunity to get to know some of the College staff who attend the P&F meetings. This page begins with information about the P&F at the Darlington Campus (K-5). Scroll down the page for information about the P&F at the Glen Forrest Campus (6-12).

SchoolTV

In 2020, the P&F (Glen Forrest Campus) has subscribed to SchoolTV, a digital content platform for parents and families to access videos and other resources on issues relating to a range of topics including youth anxiety, depression, self-harm, drug and alcohol use, cyberbullying and many others.

Each edition will address a major topic with expert interviews, fact sheets, parent quiz, recommended apps, books and much more. SchoolTV aggregates information from many great resources such as BeyondBlue and ReachOut, amongst others. SchoolTV provides a single stream of independent factual information that saves parents time and confusion of searching online across multiple sites for information. GFC P&F Association

Access to SchoolTV is open to all Helena College families with the site updated monthly.

Glen Forrest Campus (6-12)

Established in 1989, the Glen Forrest Campus Parents & Friends (GFC P&F) Association is an incorporated body with membership open to parents, guardians, carers of a student attending the College. Anyone with a child enrolled at the Glen Forrest Campus is automatically a member of the association. A P&F contribution is added to each family’s statement of account each year; this is a voluntary contribution.

The Association formally represents parents and carers in their support of the work of the College and looks at ways to support a sense of belonging and connectedness between parents, citizens, students and school staff and provide a forum for ideas and discussions on relevant issues.

Be Involved

Within our community, there are many different areas in which you can commit to giving some of your time. The contributions of families assist our students and families to form a sense of belonging and enhance their learning and growing.  Volunteering opportunities include giving support and lending a hand at College events and GFC P&F events throughout the year. Click here to see some specific ways to help out.
