Helena College has an excellent reputation among employers who are happy to welcome our students on work experience, knowing they will conduct themselves professionally. This gives our students access to a range of workplaces and professions, allowing them to learn more about what may become a chosen career.
Year 10 students spend one week in the workplace as part of our Vocational Education programme. These are based, where possible, on the interests of the students and involve a diverse range of environments, including trades, administration, schools and childcare, hospitality, animal care, retail, health and recreation.
In Years 11-12, Workplace Learning students undertake placements that can help identify and support their career aspirations. Once again, these are in a variety of fields. These placements are augmented by a number of other school based learning experiences that help students decide on post-school pathways.
