Enrolment FAQs

How can I decide if Helena College is the best place for my child?

You’ve taken a good first step by visiting our website. Here you can find out more about all aspects of an education at Helena College. Our Facebook page is another way to get to know us better – it’s filled with news from the classrooms, camps, achievements and upcoming events. There’s also our Latest News blog for more about us.

You can contact our Registrar Anne Kinsella on 9298 9100 or email her at registrar@helena.wa.edu.au

Or you can book a tour of our Darlington Campus (K-5) or Glen Forrest Campus (6-12). Many people do both tours to see what the full educational journey looks like. We have two tours each term – the dates and booking forms are on our Tour Bookings page.

What are the main intake years?

At Darlington (K-5), our main intake is in Kindy and Year 5 although there are limited additional places for Pre-primary and Year 1. Darlington is single stream from K-4 with a second class added in Year 5.

At Glen Forrest (6-12), our main intake is in Year 6 for the first year of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme.

We do accept students in all other years where there are places available. We suggest prospective families register early for the best chance of a place.

How do I register?

If you are ready to register for a place, please complete our online Registration Form. There is a non-refundable registration fee of $110. Once we receive the form and the payment, we will acknowledge your registration by return email and explain what happens next.

Do I need to complete a form for each campus?

No, only one form is required. If you change your preference, your child’s registration can be transferred between year levels and/or campuses. If a place doesn’t come up at the Darlington Campus, your child will automatically be included in the enrolment register for a place in Year 6 at Glen Forrest.

When will I know if my child has a place?

Kindy: you will be contacted the year before to arrange a pre-enrolment interview.

Year 5 and Year 6: the pre-enrolment interview will take place when the student is in Year 3 or Year 4.

Parents are contacted progressively according to their child’s place on the enrolment register.

How do you determine which students are offered a place?

Darlington (K-5), the order of priority is:

Students with siblings currently or previously at the College

All other students in order of the date they were registered for a place.

Glen Forrest (6-12), the order of priority is:

Students in Year 5 at the Darlington Campus

Students with siblings currently or previously at the College

All other students in order of the date they were registered for a place.
