Enrolment FAQs

How can I decide if Helena College is the best place for my child?

You’ve taken a good first step by visiting our website. Here you can find out more about all aspects of an education at Helena College. Our Facebook page is another way to get to know us better – it’s filled with news from the classrooms, camps, achievements and upcoming events. There’s also our Latest News blog for more about us.

Or you can book a campus tour – many people do both tours to see what the full educational journey looks like. We have two tours each term; for dates and booking forms, visit our Tour Bookings page.

What are the main intake years?

  •  Kindy and Year 5 for the Junior School at the Darlington Campus (K-5).
  •  Year 6 for Middle School at the Glen Forrest Campus (6-12).

We do accept students in all other years where there are places available. We suggest registering early for the best chance of a place.

How do I register?

By completing our Registration Form and paying the non-refundable fee of $110. We will acknowledge your registration by email and outline what happens next.

Do I need to complete a form for each campus?

No, only one form is required. If you change your preference, your child’s registration can be transferred between year levels and/or campuses. If a place doesn’t come up at the Junior School, your child will automatically be included in the enrolment register for a place in Year 6.

When will I know if my child has a place?

You will be contacted for pre-enrolment interviews at the following times, determined by the age of your child.

  •  Kindy: interviews take place the year before entry.
  •  Year 5; interviews take place when the student is in Year 3.
  •  Year 6: interviews take place when the student is in Year 4.

Parents are contacted progressively according to their child’s date of registration.

How do you determine which students are offered a place?

For Kindy-Year 5 priority is given to:

  •  Students with siblings currently or previously at the College then
  • All other students in order of the registration date.

For Years 6-12 priority is given to:

  •  Students in Year 5 at the Junior School then
  • Students with siblings currently or previously at the College then
  • All other students in order of the registration date.
