There is much to celebrate in this year’s NAPLAN results from our students in Years 3, 5, 7, and 9.
Helena College students have exceeded both the state and the national averages in nineteen of the twenty measures across the four year levels.
These are outstanding results and provide evidence of the quality and appropriately challenging nature of the inquiry-based International Baccalaureate programme on offer for students in the primary and middle years.

Obviously, we are very pleased with this year’s NAPLAN results. Whilst we acknowledge that it is just one element in the educational picture for each student, it also provides us with information for whole year curriculum planning and for individual student intervention programmes.
Furthermore, we measure this year’s data against the results for each student in their previous NAPLAN testing to see where each individual has made progress and where there is further opportunity to support their learning.
I would like to extend my personal appreciation for the efforts of our teaching staff. Their dedication to the academic growth and pastoral care for each and every student is exemplary.
