Congratulations to Mr Bob Simpson on being recognised for his contribution to the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award over the past thirty years. In an official function at Government House, the West Australian Governor, the Hon. Kim Beazley presented Mr Simpson with a Long-Serving Volunteer Medal and Award Leader Recognition Certificate. He was just one of five people to receive such recognition.
Deputy Principal – Curriculum at the Glen Forrest Campus for Years 6-12, Mr Simpson began a long association with the Award when he was working as a teacher in Scotland thirty years ago, work that continued when he moved to Australia. He is coordinator of the programme at Helena College.
The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award programme is globally recognised for its work in helping young people build the skills that benefit them in work and life. In 2019, it celebrates 60 years in Australia.
