In week two of Term Four, 72 excited Year 7 students and Helena staff embarked on the debut camp to the new site of Kerem Adventure Camp in Bullsbrook.
The camp once again focused on the theme of sustainability, self-management and fostering respect for self, others and the environment. Among the activities over three days were high ropes, low ropes, Zorb balls, Laser Tag, Frisbee golf, bush stalks, team building games, a gentle guided meditation, camp reflections and Glow Sports. The grand finale was Outback Splash on the final day. All activities aimed to develop teamwork, self-confidence, challenge by choice and provide lifelong lessons and experiences.
The new campsite, facilities and food proved to be very popular with the students. The camp was without serious incident (not even a sunburn), and the students had an amazing time. After three days, they were very tired from all the activities, and it was well and truly time to return to the creature comforts of home.
