At home amongst the trees

Helena College provides a high-quality education, offering opportunities for our students to flourish as lifelong leaners and active, engaged members of the community. Our picturesque setting on two campuses in the Perth Hills provides an exceptional environment for students to reach their potential.

At Helena College, we are big enough to offer a wide range of opportunities for all children and yet, with less than 800 students from Kindergarten to Year 12, we are still small enough for every child to be seen and heard.
— Peter Coombs, Principal

Darlington: Junior School (Kindy to Year 5)

Our Darlington Campus is home to our Junior School students (Kindergarten to Year 5). Located at the corner of Ryecroft and Leithdale Roads, it is perched proudly on a hilltop, with fabulous views over the valley and towards the Perth CBD. The original one-roomed schoolhouse from the 1940s, with many of the original features remaining in place, now serves as a meeting room - and as testimony to the College's long-term commitment to providing educational opportunities for local families.

The facilities at our Junior School include well-equipped classrooms, a library, plenty of room to play, specialist cooking facilities, a multipurpose hall, performing arts areas with stage, two grassed ovals, a multi-sport court, pottery and art studios, music rooms, canteen and top-notch computer lab. The picturesque Nyaania Creek creates a natural boundary with our neighbours at the base of 'our' hill.

Glen Forrest: Senior School (Years 6 to 12)

The Glen Forrest Campus is where you'll find our Senior School students in Years 6 to 12. Opened in the late 1980s, the expansive grounds are set amidst natural and rehabilitated bushland. The classrooms are all fitted with the latest tech, and students have access to a number of purpose-built facilities, including multi-purpose outdoor courts, gymnasium, science laboratories, performing arts centre, media studio, food science rooms fitted out with commercial quality kitchens, design and engineering workshops and more!

In addition, the custom-designed Year 6 precinct offers the youngest students at Glen Forrest Campus the ideal environment for a gradual immersion into secondary education, making the transition to Year 7 and beyond much easier.  With its own dedicated nature-play area, covered outdoor multi-sport courtyard, and traditional primary school feel, the Year 6 precinct provides the perfect home ground for an active and enthusiastic cohort of young Helenians.
