There is also an intercampus bus service, morning and afternoon, that links the Junior School (Darlington) and Senior School (Glen Forrest), ensuring that Junior School (PP-Y5) students are also able to access the bus services.
Students using the bus services (Pre-primary to Year 12) are required to have a Smartrider card. The Smartrider card is provided by the College - you do not need to purchase one from a Transperth outlet. Please see the Smartrider section for more information.
Some of the most challenging – and rewarding – experiences Helena College offers is our Camps program. At Helena, every year level from Pre-Primary to Year 12 goes on a camp during the year. From a one-night sleepover on campus, to Point Perron and Albany or trekking the Cape to Cape, and scaling Karajini Gorges, we adventure to the most wondrous locations in Western Australia. Camps are an integral part of our holistic framework, forming a natural extension of school life. Find out more

The College Canteen service operates on a non-profit basis with the help of parent volunteers. The Canteen is open five days a week. The College uses the QuickCliq system for online ordering. Menus are updated every term, with the new options published on my.helena.
Darlington Campus: Junior School parents will be required to order online in advance (up to 8.30am on the day required). No over the counter sales are available.
Glen Forrest Campus: Online ordering is preferred, although Senior School students may also make over the counter purchases at recess and lunch. It is important to note that onsite purchases can only be made by eftpos or through their QuickCliq-linked Smartrider card. No mobile phone or cash payments are accepted. For information on how to set up your child's Smartrider card on QuickCliq please download this handy information sheet.
Helena College has four House groups: Cardan, Kiara, Maali and Waughul. The names are based on indigenous Australian words for animals you may see around the Perth Hills. All students are allocated to one of the four, with siblings kept in the same House group.

Parent Lounge
The Parent Lounge is a convenient and secure online portal designed for parents to independently input emergency contact details and their child's vital health and medical requirements. You can also easily update your family's contact information and address without the hassle of handling multiple paper forms. Keeping this information current ensures that we can offer the best care for your child while they are on campus or participating in off-campus school activities.
If you need assistance, please refer to this information booklet on how to use the Parent Lounge or email ict@helena.wa.edu.au.
my.helena
The College's Learning Management System - referred to as my.helena - is the primary method of communicating with families once students have started at the school. Key notices, details of the academic program and students' individual progress is published on each parents' personal dashboard. Information on accessing my.helena will be provided at the end of January 2026, in time for the start of Term One 2026. You will use the same log in details for the Parent Lounge and my.helena.

2027 Change of Term Structure
In 2025, parents and carers were asked to complete a feedback survey about their experience with the College. One question on the survey asked for input on a possible move to having a three-week school break in the middle of the year, which would be accommodated by beginning the school year earlier.
We received 207 responses to this question, with 86.5% of respondents supporting this change. Given this level of support, we will move forward with introducing a three-week break in the middle of the year from 2027. The final day of Semester One will be Friday 25 June, and school will resume on Monday 19 July. The 2027 school year will begin in the final week of January, following the Australia Day public holiday.
The Smartrider card is provided by the College - you do not need to purchase one from Transperth/other outlet. The Smartrider is used to access Library services, for use in the Senior School Canteen, to tag on and off the school-provided bus services and may also be suitable to be used as a form of ID, and of course, for Transperth services.
Junior School students who utilise the school-provided bus services will be required to have a Smartrider for tagging on and off. Please see the Junior School page for information on how to order one for your child.
All Senior School students are provided with a Smartrider after commencement at the College. If a student misplaces their Smartrider during the year a replacement can be ordered through the school, and a fee is charged for this service.
